2005 + 2006 Silver Medal Winner!

Frank A. Tamasi, age 9, won second place in the Throw Dough National Finals contest in Orlando, Florida, August 11, 2006!  It was a close call between Frank and the winner (age 10).  This was Frank's second year in a row winning the Silver Medal.

This was the first Throw Dough contest for kids, directed by Pizza Marketing Quarterly (PMQ magazine).  The contest was divided into 2 age groups: Age 0-12 and age 13-18.  The contest was held in conjunction with the 2005 World Yo-Yo Contest....click for World Yo-Yo Contest Website

Franks routine, performed to the song "Pizza Boy U.S.A." included some impressive dough-spinning with tricks behind his head and over his shoulders (like a Harlem globe-trotter), fast spinning, figure-8 between his legs while lying on his back, under-the-back pass (while lying on his back), and a "foot-drop".  His custom-made red chefs hat, embroidered with "Pizza Boy U.S.A". on the front, and an American Flag emblem on the back, made his performance more entertaining.

Frank Tamasi lives in Saint Albans, Vermont.  He flew to Orlando with his Papa, Paul Tamasi, Sr., owner of Angelina's Restaurant in Cambridge, VT.  Frank learned how to spin dough from his Father, Paul Tamasi, Jr. (also of Angelina's), and plans to practice and compete until he is old enough to compete for a spot on the U.S. Pizza Team.  He also participated in the Jeffersonville, Vermont 4th of July parade which won 2nd place for "best commercial float".  Frank walked through town behind Papa's Jeep spinning and doing tricks with his Throw dough .... click here for pics
